Raz,

Thanks for your question. Regarding the multitasking, I don't think that there is a way to disable it for certain apps, perhaps it will be added in the future.

Regarding your other question, you might want to look at applications/services like Dropbox, Box.net, and ZumoDrive that will allow you to save files in those formats on your iPhone and in the cloud for access at any time...the apps and the service is free. Check out this article I wrote a while back comparing some of the services mentioned above.

HI Gil,
Firstly, great website, thanks!
I have a couple of iPhone questions - i have the iPhone 3GS and updated today to the iOS4 software.
1) Is there a way to turn off multitasking for certain apps? My battery seems to get run down quite quickly with Safari running in the multi-tasking pane and it's a pain to manually close it down everytime to preserve the battery
2) I would like to store some files (pdf, doc, xls) on my phone in some way - things like work rota and bus timetables, so that they can be accessed quickly and not through the internet when one does not always have a connection (I am currently using my email inbox to store these files). I do not need the facility to edit these docs. Also, I would need to be able to transfer things via wires or downloading onto the device, as I shan't have use of wireless networks, which seems to be the only way to transfer things in the apps I've looked at on iTunes. And finally, are there any free / inexpensive apps that do this?
Any suggestions? Many thanks for your help.
