I couldn't agree with you anymore, but it is so difficult when one is a single voice among millions that are pushing towards that [skynet future]...a perfect example is digital medical records...a great idea, but the thought of all medical records being a firewall away is quite scary.

As is all the other personal information that is supposed to be secure. How many times do we hear about breaches and businesses that loose information...oops.

There are some things I will never do "in the cloud" and writing my novel for example is one of them. I still prefer to rely on closed desktop technology and backup hard drives than clouds. I always believed that there is a time and a place for everything. I see the use of cloud computing, but I also see a Skynet-type of future if we entrust the cloud with too much information. ;)

Seems that change is inevitable and happening quicker than we can manage.

This is just the beginning, with the push towards cloud computing the next operating system you run will probably be from a Google Chrome browser within android or something like that...Microsoft is just trying to keep up with competitors.

The Sticky notes feature is great, been using it since they released it in Vista, it's just that they made it easier to use in this version of Windows.

Damn, every time I am getting used to something they come with a "revamp" - I am not sure I like the new Word (and Word is the Windows tool I use the most, as any other writer probably). I guess I just don't like change that much.

I do like the sticky notes thinghy however. It looks life fun - although I doubt I would ever use it.

Great post, would have liked to have seen an entry on the different versions and what they do. A lot of people don't realize how fragmented the new version of W7 is.
