I'm not sure that there is a way to opt out. I tried playing with the Google Profiles to see if deleting the profile would delete the user being followed, I too have multiple Gmail accounts and the deleted person was still being followed, however no information was being displayed on Buzz notifications.

I'll write something up on this later today. Thanks for the tip.

My concern is how to stop people from even electing to follow you. I have multiple Gmail accounts (to test such things, hee), and my 2nd Gmail account is still dutifully following my first, even with Buzz disabled. I just want a way to completely, utterly opt out of Buzz.

If you figure out a way to do this, a post on this topic would surely capture the internet's focus in a hurry.
