How to Disable Performance Counters

View Tutorial Windows 2000 and Windows XP have a built-in performance monitor that essentially monitor performance on your machine. This little tool is never used by most users and therefore remains in the background using valuable system resources. To disable follow the steps below.

1. Download and install Esxtensible Performance Counter List from Microsoft’s website.


2. Run the program which resides in ‘C:Program FilesResource Kitexctrlst.exe’

3. Clear the ‘Performance Counter Enable Checkbox for each counter listed.
