How to Display the Volume Icon in Your Taskbar

by

pictuticon How to Display the Volume Icon in Your Taskbar I have run into computers that do not have the Sound control icon enabled by default. Now this can be annoying if you have no other way of easily lowering or increasing your volume. Since I’ve been confronted with this question in the past, I’ve created this short how-to that details the steps necessary to enable or disable this feature. Below you will find instructions on how to enable/disable the sound icon from your taskbar. You can also view the one pager by clicking on the pic tutorial icon. As always comments/suggestions are always welcome.

1. Click Start > Control Panel

2. Click on Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices

3. Click on Sounds and Audio Devices

4. When the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window opens make sure that Place volume icon in the taskbar is checked.

5. Click OK
