After countless hours researching Adobe, Microsoft and many other websites, nothing they told me to do helped. I found your advice to remove all previous versions of Office. I had 8, 10, 11 and 14 showing in my registry. I removed all except 14, restarted my computer, began the Acrobat install again and crossed my fingers the box with the Error 1606...would not appear. My day was made when this install showed the words "Adobe Acrobat X SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED." Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! IT WORKS!!! After countless hours researching Adobe, Microsoft and many other websites, nothing they told me to do helped. I found your advice to remove all previous versions of Office. I had 8, 10, 11 and 14 showing in my registry. I removed all except 14, restarted my computer, began the Acrobat install again and crossed my fingers the box with the Error 1606…would not appear.
