How to open new Windows explorer window

I use My Computer to manage files on my XP computers. With the "open each folder in the same window" setting (my preference), is there a way to open a new window (without returning to My Computer in the Start menu)? The preferred approach would be a keyboard shortcut.

What I seek is the equivalent of CTRL-N in Internet Explorer which opens a new window.

Hold down Shift when

How-to Create Shortcuts to Your Favorite Programs

That's a lot better than nothing

That works pretty well. I created a shortcut to my data directory d:/ and then used your tips to set a keyboard shortcut. (Unfortunately Win XP will not create a shortcut to "My Computer." You have to take a step within the directory structure before you can create the inital shortcut.)

Thanks.

You can drag "My Computer"

You can drag "My Computer" to "quick launch" on the "task bar" to create a shortcut to my computer. :)

Then you can place it where ever you wish...
