windows XP tweaks

Shalom Gil, Thank you for these wonderful and easy guides ,and for detailing them so well that computer idiots like me can still do all this heavy duty stuff.
I have followed all the tweaks suggested by you in your OPTIMIZE WINDOWS section , i have had some problems and have some questions with regards to the tweaks
1.i use Zone ALarm internet security suite , when i log off or turn my computer off , i get a window saying (Zclient or zone alarm is not responding , end now ) this has only started to happen after these tweaks , i dont know which of the tweaks has caused this , i have done them all from your optimize windows section.

2 . I Downloaded a few software suggested by you to optimize windows , they are
1 CC Cleaner
2 TCPOptimizer
3 exctrlst setup
4 bootvis
Can i remove these programs FROM ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS after using them as you had recommended they be used or do i have to keep them for good on my computer.
I ask this question as i understand having too much software slows the comp down.

3.I used bootvis as you recommended and in the second step that is opimizing the bootvis optimizing window just stays there and for more than 2 hours nothing seens to happen , i got tired of waiting and i used ctrl +alt + del and closed it down i think i have done this twice , is that harmful for my laptop , and is it normal how this software is behaving on my laptop or have i screwed up somewhere?
My comp specs
TOSHIBA SATELLITE L-20
Intel(R)Pentium (R)M
processor 1.73 Ghz
1.73Ghz ,0.99 GB of RAM
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
80GB HARD DISK
1024 MB RAM
I have very recently formated and reloaded windows using the recovery disc that came with the laptop.

Mukesh,

Thank you for your kind words. You have the option to uninstall all the programs via the control panel if you wish, however these specific programs are designed for preventive maintenance so if I were you I would keep them installed so that you don't have to install/uninstall each time you want to use it. Let me know if this helps.

Regards,

Gil
