Released Today, the Skyfire Browser App is Sold Out in 5 Hours

Have you been itching to watch flash videos on your iPhone or iPad? Well, It looks like you are going to continue waiting. Shortly after the Skyfire Browser app debuted on the App store it was sold out as a result of demand exceeding Skyfire Labs’s predictions and its servers. The service apparently suffered quality degradation as hundreds of users purchased the $2.99 app and began streaming videos. The official Skyfire Labs blog post states that the company will be working on adding capacity to their systems and will make the App available as soon as they can support additional users.

Things to Keep in Mind

Although the App is currently unavailable, you can be sure that the folks at Skyfire will do everything possible to get the App back on the market once they add more capacity to their servers, but before you spend $2.99 on yet another app, know the following:

  • Hulu is not supported.
  • Videos can take about 15-20 seconds to load.
  • Not all websites are supported.
  • Games and Flash Apps are not supported.
  • Soon to be released iOS 4.2 appears to have playback issues.
  • You must be at least 17 years old to download this game. Frequent/Intense Sexual Content or Nudity.
  • Will Skyfire Labs be around in the next 6 months?
