How to Change the Dock’s Icon Size in Mac OS

The default icon size for Apps on the Mac OS Dock may leave you either straining your eyes or wishing for more space on the Dock.

If you find yourself in this predicament, changing the size of the icons on the Dock is as easy as following the three steps below.

Software/Hardware used: Mac OS 10.6.

Change the Icon Size in the Dock

Access System Preferences

1. Click the Apple menu then System Preferences.

The System Preferences window will appear.

2. Click Dock in the Personal row to open Dock Preferences.

Change the Icon Size

3. Use the Size slider to adjust the size of the icons on the Dock.

Move from left to right until you find the icon size that best suits you.

Note: this will only affect the icons on the dock, not the icons on the desktop.
